Christopher "Chris" Marsh
Born 14 January 1970
A footballer who is best remembered for his time with Walsall football club, for whom he made over 470 appearances in all competitions.
Marsh began his footballing career as a trainee with Walsall in 1988, joining the club on leaving school, and went on to make over 450 appearances in thirteen seasons, and scoring 30 league goals, helping the club to promotion in 1988,1995 and 1999.
He played primarily as a fullback but played in virtually every position on the field, incliding Goal keeper when called for.
In January 2001, he requested a transfer and joined Wycombe Wanderers in March 2001, and then completed his professional footballing career at Northampton Town.
Deciding to call time on a career of football, which included 13 years sterling service for Walsall Football Club, in the West Midlands. During which time Marshy had become a clear favourite with the fans, all down to his trademark step-over. Since leaving the game Chris is involved in a number of business ventures outside of the footballing sector, but has actively mainted a commitment to football coaching and had coached overseas in both America and Australia.
